BugTask:+addcomment takes a very long time ~ 6% of requests

BugTask:+addcomment is showing up on https://devpad.canonical.com/~stub/ppr/lpnet/latest-daily-timeout-candidates.html with a 101 second 99% completion rate - this is because more than 1% of requests are taking huge amounts of time. This probably oops below our fairly noisy threshold at the moment, but I expect that when we next lower the hard timeout the 6% or so will shoot up : its std deviation is 30.

+addcomment has fallen off the daily report, but still shows up in the weekly report. This is an example of a recent OOPS-21720bc00119fd3b3ea09114444611c4. This may also be Bug:EntryResource:newMessage as seen in OOPS-8c9992f1388c44a953fff054330b6f23 . Both oopses show that

can be stupendously slow.

I have been trying to contact the author of this bug, Robert Collins, ever since January 2012 regarding this bug report. However. he is either not reading my messages or not replying to them. I have no idea why.

Robert Collins is still a senior Ubuntu developer, so he surely reads launchpad bug reports regularly, especially his own.

I would be most grateful if anybody could tell me how to get a reply from Robert here.
