Bug Description

Hi!

Maybe I just didn't see it, but I am quite sure there is no field when reporting a bug to state to which distribution release it applies.

As I currently see it, the reporter either has to say "i use Ubuntu 6.06 on i386" or "running edgy on amd64". IMO, a dropdown list for release and arch would be nicer.

Thanks

Martin

Here is my dupe bug: https://launchpad.net/products/launchpad/+bug/62162

When submitting bugs it would be extremely useful for people to select what distribution version the bug affects.

What I propose is adding a drop down box on the report a bug page that has a list of the currently bug reportable distributions.

So for Ubuntu this would be something like:

Hoary
Dapper
Edgy
(General) <- If the user doesn't know

With some simple code that looks at the user agent string from the browser and autoselects which distribution (but still being changeable of course if that user is using a different distribution or computer at the time of submitting).

This would allow people sifting through bugs to say show me all bugs from Edgy.
