Bug Description

rms asks that the javascript files used by Launchpad should declare their licence and source url along the lines of <http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/javascript-trap.html>, which seems to be based on the syntax of <http://wiki.greasespot.net/Metadata_Block>.

istm that putting a copyright and licence declaration on them is a good idea regardless of what the licence may be.

Can I just clarify, does this say that the licence and copyright in the source tree are not good enough and that the stripped, compressed JS that's sent to the browser should have this extra stuff in it?

Yes, that's what it's asking for, so that there is traceability from
the code received by the client back to the source. istm that we
could do this with perhaps two fairly short text lines and that should
not be a large percentage increase (but it needs to be checked.) If
there is code that strips/compresses them it may need to be tweaked to
add this.

c-i-p won't have any js files until the 2.6.0 release. Assigning to that release as a reminder.

Actually, we apparently do have a small js file now... leaving on this release anyway
