Bug Description

Whereas you can edit bug descriptions, there seems to be no mechanism or process to follow if you want to delete/edit your own bug comments.

In delight at someone emailing a workaround to a problem I had, I replied to the email with a quick note of thanks, not realizing that I was in fact posting to Launchpad and the mailing list. Regrettably, this included my email address in plain text. I've worked hard to try and keep that email address from spammers and would like to continue to enjoy a spam free existence.

My message was here, if anyone is capable of removing it or editing out the email address (with my apologies for the hassle):

More generally, this sort of facility can increase the signal-to-noise ratio of any forum.

(Not to be confused with bug 796714, which is generally about deleting/hiding *other* people's comments.)

I agree. I never saw that you could edit a bug description but then I found the teeny-tiny edit icon beside "Bug description". Now my comments are useless and need to be deleted.

What is the reason for this functionality? If it's e-mailed out to every subscriber, is that not good enough for record keeping?
