Forward Bugs Upstream to an Email Address: email address corrupted

Trying to get an email notification going to an upstream bug contact whenever a bug is set to also affect its corresponding launchpad project definition:

Bugs are tracked:
(x) By emailing an upstream bug contact: [ ]

But email addresses beginning with "a" are not saved correctly. (leading "a" is stripped)

So if the upstream contact email is `<email address hidden>` it becomes `<email address hidden>` when you submit the form, is that correct?

Exactly when I go back to the project's "+edit" page it shows only `<email address hidden>` at "emailing an upstream bug contact".

I have used a different address, but still did not receive any launchpad notifications about bugs set to also affect the project etc. If the feature is already supposed to work maybe the corruption I noticed with "a*" addresses is more general but not always visible as such?
