Release URL pattern and GPG signatures

When uploading source tarballs for a release, the option of providing a detached GPG signature is given, which is great.

Would it be possible to search for GPG signatures when doing the automatic searches for new releases based on the Release URL pattern defined for a series?

If a pattern http://example.com/example-0.1.*.tar.gz was given, then if a file example-0.1.1.tar.gz was found, searching for example-0.1.1.tar.gz.asc (and verifying it and making available for download of course) would make automatic searching for new releases much more valuable.
