Add project bug totals to the "Package report" screen

I searched and could not find that this has already been reported:

The Mythbuntu project has a "bug team". We want to use the "Package report" screen (https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/~mythbuntu-bugs/+packagebugs) as an index to all the possible buckets that Mythbuntu related tickets could reside in. I asked on IRC and it appears that there is a restriction that prevents us from adding the Mythbuntu project to this screen. Could that restriction be removed please?

You see there's a schema in the back that we use to make the package-report, that change would mean changing all the pages in launchpad to show up the totals. One easy way to accomplish this would be to use Launchpad API to get the info. out and then use python to add it up and display it on a separate page :) You can always link that page in your description.

I was the other party in the IRC conversation. 'Mythbuntu' is a project, so it cannot currently be shown on +packagebugs, which shows only distribution source packages.

Would the addition of a similar "Project bugs" view be a possible solution here? It could be a separate page, or be merged with the package report.

Just thinking ahead... the "Package bugs" page is simply an aggregate view of a basic search of related DSPs. I haven't checked the code, but I *guess* it wouldn't be difficult to simply widen the search to include related projects too. Something like this could disrupt the workflow of distro folk so presentation would need to be done carefully, but technically it sounds easy to moderate.

Gavin, either solution you outline would be acceptable, although the obvious preference would be for launchpad to allow it to be shown on one screen (even if it needed to be a seperate list to help distinguish it as a project rather than package). The goal is to have a dash-board / overview for any related bugs.
