The "(Required)" next to the "Participation essential" checkbox on Blueprint subscription page is confusing

Bug Description
The subscription page for blueprints has a checkbox like this:
[ ] Participation essential (Required)
before its Submit button. This is confusing...is the user required to hit that checkbox in order to submit? Can the "(Required)" text just go away?
