Bug Description
If I enter a complex search request using "advanced search" I get a long, complicated url. If I want to refine the search request, I have to click all the buttons again.
When I enter a search url (either by clicking the search button in advanced search, or by using my browser's bookmark feature), I would like to be able to click a button and enter the advanced search page with all the appropriate checkboxes clicked, so that I can refine my search.

A little bit related to bug 325982, but this bug is actually asking for a new UI, as well as shorter URLs.
