No navigation after login

From the main login page, I click on the link to log in in the upper right. After I have succesfully done so, there is no website navigation to find my way back to the start page to continue on.

Please provide a way of doing this without resorting to browser navigation (which then gives me a cached page which I have to reload)

By "the main login page" do you mean "Launchpad's front page"?

Yes, sorry. I start at http://www.launchpad.net/, click in the upper
right hand corner and wind up at https://launchpad.net/+login
