Bug Description

Package hint: apport

I installed the latest 9.04 version of Ubuntu a couple days ago and find that the "Report a problem" Launchpad link does not work. That is, it starts to open but then whatever was opening fails to do so.

Release 9.04 (jaunty)
Kernel Linux 2.6.28-10-generic
GNOME 2.25.92

Understood. It seems to be a bug related to bug-buddy or on the user's side (until it can be confirmed by other users).

I don't know whether it is a separate bug, and whether I post comment to the right place at all, but I had the problem with reporting bugs with apport too. I made a bootable USB from Jaunty Live CD (Beta). In it, apport fails to send a bug report, and shows a message that I must install these packages: network-manager consolekit libssl0.9.8 console-setup python update-notifier-common busybox-initramfs adduser libudev0 udev python2.6 python-minimal libnm-util1 debconf libck-connector0 debconf-i18n python2.6-minimal python-central libnm-glib0 libvolume-id1 libc6 hal-info.

It would be very nice if people had the way to send bug reports having tried live CD. It would be very beneficent for Ubuntu beta-testing process.

Possibly related:

Report a Problem link works correctly via Firefox's Help menu.

For me, it does NOT work in Gnome applications, as tried in:
*seahorse GUI 2.26.0
*Nautilus (via a folder window) 2.26.1
*GNOME Character Map 2.26.0
*gcalctool 5.26.0 (calculator)
*gedit 2.26.0
*GNOME Terminal 2.26.0

I can verify Kraft's report.

The "Report a problem" option works correctly in Firefox, and it does *not* work in Gnome applicatons like gedit or GNOME Terminal.
