large SVN Import fails with a timeout

Bug #343207 reported by Uwe L. Korn
Affects Status Importance Assigned to Milestone
Launchpad CSCVS
Launchpad itself

Bug Description

The code import of fails after about 8 hours with a timeout, which seems to be caused by watchdog. Is it possible that the initial import is done without being closed after this time?

PS: Some tries failed with "Bad Gateway" which I think is a problem of Google Codehosting, I think this should be taken less care of.

I believe I'm also seeing this with the two branches I've tried to import on the LLVM project ( and It's still trying, but there were some previous attempts ~1 year ago and they failed for the same reason, so I'm guessing those other attempts are most likely going to fail as well.

Marking the launchpad task as invalid since we have one for LP CSCVS already.

Note that both llvm and clang are working again. Which would seem to indicate it might be an issue based on svn server.

This isn't really a bug in cscvs per se, more in the way Launchpad implements it -- but the fix for all svn problems launchpad has with cscvs is "use bzr-svn instead", so I guess I'm going to close this.
