This seems to have been caused by another query that took too long and blocked
the tables used on the query issued by this page. As a consequence the query
expired.

This could also have been caused by this query taking too long by itself, but
I'm pretty sure that's not the case, as this is not the one which performs the
merge.

Philipp, could you try again and see if it works?

It doesn't work yet. I tried it already two times with an hour in between before I reported the bug.

Thanks for your help, Guilherme, though.

Indeed, the problem seems to be with some query issued by that page. I found
something that can be causing this problem; will do some tests today so I can
get this fix on production by tomorrow morning.

I just tried it again and the request was processed. Was this a load problem or have you fixed the issue?

There's a load problem, part of which is still unresolved -- so you were lucky, in a way. Salgado is still working on getting this to work reliably.

No, I haven't fixed anything, specially because I didn't find the cause.

I'm seeing the same problem. I have one account with an email address, the other account without, and I can't merge due to the error described above.

Same problem here. I've been having them since the 21st.
It can fail on two seperate points.

Sometimes it errors when I click on the "merge it" link pointing to https://launchpad.net/people/+requestmerge?field.dupeaccount=vincent-dirck
and sometimes it doesn't, but then it fails on the final "submit" on that page.

I have just been able to do a merge (although my email hasn't arrived yet, but I guess that's another issue). I had just completed my GPG authentication.

Did someone fix something, or is GPG authentication somehow a factor?

Rob.
