Cannot see recent activity on a project

There is no way to see all recent activity on a Launchpad project. Google Code has a nice view which shows Subversion commits and and issue changes and other bits and pieces. Not only is this nice for keeping up with what's happening in a project, it's also useful for passers-by to work out whether a project is dead or not (bug 204098).

(The equivalent for a person is bug 129647, and for you is bug 150320.)

Something related to this came up in our plans for project creations and transparency planning. We do want to show what the project (and its teams) are working on. It may help to include recent announcements for the project and teams to inform users how they can contribute.

I have long been in favour of replacing the boxes of bugs, questions, etc... with a change log of activity. While talking with Vish, the driver of the /hundredpapercuts project, it was clear that the +index page needs to convey that bug fixing is the primary purpose of the project. An activity log would show that. The current page shows items that have not changed in months.
