New source uploads are hard coded to component universe which is problematic if that component does not exist.

Yes, Soyuz is tailored to Ubuntu right now, but this one should be easy to fix.

We missed the derived-distros project, which this might have been perfect for.

Not currently on the roadmap to improve, but patches would be most gratefully considered. Basically just needs some way for LP to infer the default, and then use that in the relevant upload-build-accept process
