Redirect user after login

IMHO it would be better to redirect the user either back to the main page or their respective "home page."

When someone logs in, Launchpad redirects them to the page they came from, because they're fairly likely to be logging in so they can do something on a page they were just looking at.

This is true for almost every page except the front page. Was it the front page you were talking about?

I see what you're saying... But I usually go to the "main" site (www.launchpad.net) and then proceed to login (using the upper right hand corner link)... I only login so that I can either start working on my translations or to do something related to my account... and all that information is located in my profile page... so I expected to be redirected to my "home page" right after login... The same way you get redirected to your home page when you log into a portal (i.e. my.[sitenamegoeshere].com... But maybe this is not the way a wiki-like site works... I'm sure you'll come up with the best resolution. Thank you for your reply.
