As part of the page performance hack last week, ValidPersonCache was prejoined when getting the subscriber list. For bugs with a large number of subscribers this reduced the number of queries by a vast amount (for the bug in question, from over 1000 to ~70 queries). But the prejoin seems to be slow now.
