User profile web url shows email address even if set to being private

If you hover over my username "cfi", or click on it, the web url shown exactly reflects my email address.
During creation of my launchpad account I selected "do not reveal email address to others" (not the exact wording). Seems launchpad does not really allow that privavcy. Please fix this problem and make those urls indistinguishable or, even better, use the username itself instead of the email address.

Until then please mention during the registration that 100% privacy is not guaranteed and folks can guess email addresses from web urls.

I tested this with a browser on a second computer.
Does not seem to be true for other users: All others which I checked by hovering on user names in bug listings, have the username or some fantasy name used for referring to the profile.

I should not that I can personally live with the situation right now - so no need for hasty actions just to change my account. ;-)

Ok, users can solve this themselves: By going to their profile page, and choosing a different name.

I guess I still want to keep this bug as the default chosen by launchpad is wrong for people who have expressed their wish to keep their email address hidden from others.

HIdden email feature does work. I do not understand what you changed to fix the problem. You can change your "Display name", Administrators can change the launchpad id (something called "name"). Did you use your email address in a "name" field?

The hidden email feature doesn't work, but that's not this bug. This bug is that the default Person.name is derived from the email address provided during registration, and this transformation can easily be reversed in many cases.
