Bug Description
If you mark a bug as a duplicate of another bug, that means that the status of both bugs should always be the same -- after all, they're the same bug.
However it seems that if you mark an open bug as a duplicate of a closed one, the duplicate marker is added but the status of the open bug is not changed.

If a bug is marked as a duplicate, why does it matter what its status is any more? And if a bug does inherit the status of the bug it's marked a duplicate of, then the duplicate marking is removed, should the original status be restored?
