Bug Description

Currently launchpad assumes that every person only has one association with open source software, and lumps it all together.

For example, it makes no distinction between my paid work for Ubuntu, the non-paid work I used to do for Debian and any personal projects I might have.

People should be able to have "hats" (ie. "Work", "Personal", "Debian", etc.) and relate products, packages, etc. to a particular hat.

One required feature of this is that I should be able to associate different e-mail addresses to each hat.

Right now any bugs filed on Live F1 (for which I'm the upstream author in my spare time) are sent to my <email address hidden> "primary" e-mail address and lumped in with my work e-mail.

I want to specify that e-mail for the product should go to <email address hidden> instead.

I should note that this issue is preventing me from contributing to the ZIM project as I cannot join it's mailing list with the address I currently use for Ubuntu bugs. So this is more than an annoyance, this is hindering contributions.

It would be great to have the ability to choose an correspondence email address for each team your a member of, much the same way as the new mailing-lists work.

Why we can't select how to route our emails from here?

This is annoying, and of course to say this is a low priority bug is not good. It is normal or high, cause some people don't like to receive tons of emails then they become discouraged to participate in launchpad if they can't filter their emails.

In my case, we wanted to make a project here, but we can't specify just one address for that project, and we can't receive emails for other things, like bugs in different projects in our work email accounts, it is simply not possible. But we need fast feedback on our project, so we really needed those emails in work email accounts.

Cause we couldn't do that, we just moved to code.google.com...

I think some people want a flexible platform to work in.

So I have two addresses, one for work and one for private, configured mailing lists accordingly and kinda expected the same distinction for team subscriptions. I feel rather uncomfortable with mixing up the accounts, work and confidential stuff is all included next to all other bug mail.

If you want your home and work personas totally separate, you probably
need to create two separate accounts (and use two separate browser
profiles, etc). Otherwise, when you do an action through the web
site, it may be shown as coming from the wrong email address.
