2010-11-21 18:33:06 Robert Collins summary 75 is a short and odd default batch size default batch size (75) is small compared to other systems
2010-11-21 18:35:08 Robert Collins description By default, bug searches return 75 results per page. This is a strange number, and quite short compared with Bugzilla. It would be nice if it could be increased to 100 by default, or 200 if it won't cause performance problems. Our batch size is small because our search and rendering codepaths are often inefficient, leading to timeouts on many different listing pages when we show more than 75 items. Once we have fixed our default behaviour to be consistently fraction-of-a-second we should review our default batch size - using a data driven approach - to decide if a longer batch (and thus slower performance) is a better tradeoff for usability.
