Bug Description
When logging in to Launchpad you have the ability under the profile section of you page to examine the bugs to which you have reported or are subscribed. Off to the side of the individual bug reporting page you can click on several links that provide some information on your bug history.
There should be two links on the little nav box on the right of this page that aren't included. The first should be a link that will allow you to see all the "completed" bugs you have ever participated on. Many times I've encountered problems that I had every intention of logging, but didn't have the time initially. Having the ability to see all completed bugs would allow you to determine if I had in fact already logged the bug.
The other link in this same area should be for "rejected" bugs. The reasons for this are two-fold. First to make sure you don't forget and re-opened a bug. The other is to help you understand what might have been wrong with the bug you reported. Launchpad should allow the users to not only log bugs, but learn when things don't work properly.
I recently spent close to two hours debugging a python bug. I reported it and I now believe the bug was rejected, although I only saw a rejection in the karma listing. I had no other means to determine the state of the bug. I have to say that after spending two hours tracking something down I believe at a minimum I am owed an explanation as to why this work was ignored, otherwise it becomes very discouraging.
Thanks!
