Bug Description

I was just reporting a bug against launchpad, but when I finished typing all of the useful info I got a little "POSTing requires authorization" message and my bug report was gone.

Unfortunatelly you were submitting a bug when I needed to restart the servers for a code update. This currently has the side effect of logging you out as authentication information is currently not persistent.

We plan to address this by making authentication information (and other session information) persistent which should make code-updates unnoticeable.

That's a unique cause for a bug, if ever I heard one... I guess the title needs to be changed to "non-persistent persistence considered harmful" or something. <grin>

This isn't a duplicate of #676, although a single solution *could* solve both bugs. #676 is talking about persisting logon sessions for users over a long period of time; I was reporting that I got logged out at inconvenient times in the ordinary course of creating a bug report.
