Uploader gets credited as Translator (instead of upstream)

Mvo currently gets credited when he imports strings from upstream for the DDTP. It's an annoying bug as it's important to credit upstream.
There should be a way for an uploader to tell Rosetta: this is not my work, credit upstream as a whole for the translations (individuals upstream contributors will still be listed in the "translators" field.

We're planning to start ignoring Last-Translator for user uploads (where the last translator is more likely to be mistaken than to be anyone else than the uploader), but yes, for published uploads the last-translator is the person who should get the karma.

This is most likely a problem of missing Last-Translator field: I believe we are giving credit to Last-Translator whenever possible. In any case, for published uploads, we should not give credit to the uploader in any circumstances.

In bug 339221, Michael Kuhn reports how he gets credit even if Last-Translator field is included. We need to investigate that.

FWIW, in mvo's case, we can't figure out an upstream translator because upstream doesn't list it. Eg. it.po has the default "FULL NAME" value in http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~mvo/ddtp-ubuntu/ddtp-pot-maverick/annotate/head:/main/it.po

As such, this is not a bug in itself.
