In the task table on a bug page, each of Affects, Status, Importance and Assigned to have some text plus a disclosure triangle.
In every case the disclosure triangle unfolds the form to edit the task. For the Affects and Assigned to text, the text links to the bugs homepage for that product, distro, package, person or team.
However, for status and importance it unfolds the form.
This is inconsistent with the other fields. It seems unnecessary because there are already at least four controls to unfold the form. And it misses a useful opportunity to link to a list of other bugs having the same status or importance respectively. |
In the task table on a bug page, each of Affects, Status, Importance, Assigned to and Milestone have some text + an edit icon.
There is a disclosure triangle to unfolds the form to edit the task on the left hand side. For some columns such as Affects the text (e.g. 'Launchpad itself' in this bug's Affects column) links to the referenced object. Other columns such as Status and Importance have the text trigger the edit popup widget.
Analysis
========
This inconsistency does probably surprise people and it would be easy enough to fix. Most consistent with the rest of LP would be to always link to the object; for Status and Importance linking to a same-context search of that status, or that importance, would be reasonable. |
