package name search box selects a package that doesn't exist

Bug Description

I wanted to report a bug in the current Intrepid kernel. I started a new bug and for the package name used the search box to find linux-image-2.6.26-4. (That may not be the correct number; at any rate I used the full name.) I know this style of package name has worked before.

When I tried to submit the bug, it said there was no such package name. This should never happen if I got the package name from the search popup.

I'm told the source package is now just called 'linux'.

Is the search/suggestion data somehow out of date with what's used to validate the form suggestion?

This may be similar to bug 202679

The specific bug where I hit this was https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/250667

As Brian Murray says there, maybe there should be aliases for the package name pointing to just "linux".

Same problem for the 'adobe-flashplugin' package.
