Launchpad project directory should be navigable like a directory

Bug Description

The details of more than 7,000 projects are registered in Launchpad.

To make projects discoverable, we should offer a directory-style interface to that project information. This would enable people to find projects based on language, licence, genre, platform, etc.

That should make it easier to find projects they want to work on and for projects to find other projects to collaborate with.

Can you elaborate a little on how you envision this? Is a directory browsing the right UI for this or would a search interface be more useful?

There several bugs that this bug request in a susinct way. Regardless if it is implemented as a search or a browsable hierarchy (or probably a hybrid), users will be happy to have something that allows them to see meaningful slices of the projects.
