notifications to assignee claim the reason is subscription
Bug #253252 reported by
Robert Collins
This bug report is a duplicate of:
Bug #132300: mail for new bugs inconsistent with other bug mail (ignores mail-on-my-actions disabled, missing footers, duplicate mail vs structural subscriptions).

Bug Description
Malone seems to be automatically subscribing me to bugs I comment on.
I'd really love a knob to turn this off for me (commenting != wanting to
'join the list').
Secondly, and perhaps I should file a separate bug, its also subscribing
me to bugs for projects I'm on the bug list for - so I am already
getting notified. This is redundant, and if I was only commented because
of a team membership would be very annoying if I left the team to have
to manually unsubscribe from these bugs.

There is nothing in the code base that should automatically subscribe
you. Can you give an example of a bug you got subscribed to?
