Bug Description
There are a ton of open source licenses to choose from when making a project, and it's quite a big responsibility to choose wisely when registering a project. However, I don't know anything about the differences between the various licenses.
I asked a question about it at the following URL and received a helpful response:
https:/
The response said that while Launchpad cannot get involved in the "minefield" of offering legal advice :), you might be able to provide a page with very general summaries and links to the official pages of each license, so that the uninitiated can do our research more efficiently.
I can say that not knowing the licenses (but being required to choose at least one upon registering a project) was a barrier to my using Launchpad.
(And I do *want* to use Launchpad--very, very much! You guys are have a terrific project going here, and I can't wait to see if/what SourceForge does in response, after sooo many years of hideous clunky interfaces… :)

Barry fixed this with the new licence widget that links to the definition of the licences.
