Bug Description
Problem:
A bug is reported to package Abba. The bug reporter or someone else references this bug on their blog with the link of the form: https:/
However, after triage it is found that the bug is not in Abba, but instead in Baab. After reassignment the URL is now: https:/
However, when someone goes to the original URL they are presented with the statement "Bug #38244 is not in baab" along with asking the user if they would like to mark the bug as affecting Abba. This is not only a cluttered interface but creates the situation where a user might additionally assign the bug to Abba needlessly.
Possible Solution:
Create a button labeled "link to this bug" or similar which has a simple pop-up with a highlighted simplified link to that bug. For the above example it would provide the link as "https:/
Rationale:
All bugs in Launchpad have a unique number, even across projects. Utilize this feature to provide cleaner and less error prone URLs.

Alternative solution: Have a bug report's URL not include the context at all, unless there is more than one context. So bug 38244's URL would be <https:/ /launchpad. net/bugs/ 38244>, and moving it from abba to baab wouldn't change this. But if the report was filed against both abba *and* baab, there would be <https:/ /launchpad. net/bugs/ 38244?in= ubuntu/ +source/ abba> and <https:/ /launchpad. net/bugs/ 38244?in= ubuntu/ +source/ baab>.
I agree with getting rid of the "Also Needs Fixing Here" button. I'd be surprised if it has ever been used appropriately.
