2010-11-07 01:26:11 Robert Collins description We already have a bazillion providers; AFAICT, they outnumber the consumers by 2:1. We don't need another provider. Openid won't become more mainstream by the existence of yet another provider. We need more openid consumers. Be a consumer! Launchpad currently consumes openid from login.ubuntu.com only; expanding this to support arbitrary providers needs some care to handle spam protection, integrity of security teams (like ~admins, or teams for commercial users), but doing it will lower the cost of participation in Launchpad.
