I can confirm this. Suggest it is given a high priority as it stops a number of projects from meeting deadlines.

I'm also confirm this. Since Saturday, March 29, I can't get translations for QBzr project: https://translations.launchpad.net/qbzr/trunk/+pots/qbzr. We're planning to release 0.9.0 with new translations in Sunday, March 30, but can't get translations from launchpad.

I suggest to mark it as critical.

Same here. I've been translating few packages and I have to fix some things I can't find in rosetta just by clicking next, so I really need PO files. I've been trying to get them quite few times. Everytime I get message that I will get email, but then nothing came.

Un marking as duplicate - bug 70294 was opened in 2006 and this bug only appeared last week, so it must relate to a different issue.

This bug was reported over a month ago. Since there seems to be no other way to download .po files, this means that for the past month, nobody has been able to test a translation (i.e. add the .po file to the program's source code, run the program, and see how it looks). This is a critical bug. What needs to happen in order for this bug to get a developer's attention?

Also, the fact that you have to get an email in order to download a file is really strange in itself. Why isn't there just a download link to the file? Is it because the data is stored in some other format and needs to be converted to .po format? But surely such a conversion shouldn't take more than a fraction of a second. Can a Launchpad developer please explain?

Marking this as high (critical is not appropriate), but am curious if this is really affecting everybody or just a few users?

During the last week or so, I have probably requested a .po file ten times, but I have only received two e-mails with the link. I think I have received both at least 12-24 hours after my last request.
The delay origins somewhere between the request for the mail in the front-end and Launchpad sending the mail - judging from the mailheaders, which show no sign of delay in the transmission.

I tried an export request from a random Launchpad project <https://translations.edge.launchpad.net/aptoncd/trunk> and got the expected email after a few minutes.
To help debug this further, please add the URL of the projects you're trying to download translations from.

https://translations.launchpad.net/screenlets/

this has probably more to do with server overload

Tried both the screenlets and the transmission exports and they both took some minutes to arrive in my inbox. Am I being lucky?

They describe the same problem, and fixing bug 209859 fixed this one. The export queue has not been backlogged this week.
