Builders failing with LXD socket timeout

Bug Description

Launchpad builds are frequently dying at random points with

Error: write unix @->/var/snap/lxd/common/lxd/unix.socket: i/o timeout

It does not occur on x64. It occurs on ARM (armhf and arm64). I make no claim about other architectures, because my builds that hit this are only on x64 and ARM.

LXD tracks this at https://github.com/canonical/lxd/issues/10034. As I read it, attempts to fix the issue already exist in some LXD channels, but not in others.

This issue is affecting Chromium, Chromium-llvm and (second-hand report from a colleague) Firefox builds. Chromium stable channel on ARM is two releases behind Chromium on x64 because not hitting the error requires too much luck in the last days, compounded with the possible ARM builder queue and the more classical connectivity failures.
