Feature request: store private API keys or secrets for use at build time by public recipes

In some cases, the packaging recipe for an application (deb or snap) is public but it wants to use secrets or API keys that shouldn't be shared with the outside world.

I've been informed that such a feature doesn't exist today in Launchpad, so here goes a feature request.
