error while updating a launchpad branch / this branch is empty

Bug Description
when pushing to a new bzr branch, bzr gives the following error:
$ bzr push lp:~sajoupa/canonical-mojo-specs/staging-telegraf-snap-channel-candidate
Using default stacking branch /+branch-

Created new stacked branch referring to /+branch-
Then, when browsing the branch in Launchpad, it exists, I can create merge proposals with it, but the recent revisions part shows:
