Private git branch modification page requires "Optional" field

When trying to edit a proprietary branch via https://code.launchpad.net/~foo/bar/+git/baz/+edit, it demands the supposedly "Optional" default branch. It does not seem to accept `baz` or `refs/heads/baz` so I am actually kind of stuck even working around this right now.
