Bug Description

Hello,

I just bought Euler 4785T and a 27" Iiyama ProLite X2783HSU-B1 screen.

When trying to install Ubuntu/Xubuntu 16.04 or 16.10 (32 or 64bits) I have some display problems (brightness button is blocked, right-click in Firefox bugs...)

Same problem with Linux Mint 17 and 18 (64bits), but so far, it seems to work with Linux Mint XFCE 32 bits.

I wrote a post in Ubuntu forum (in French) here : http://forum.ubuntu-fr.org/viewtopic.php?pid=21657030#p21657030.

I have been told to report the bug on Launchpad. It may be helpful.

Don't hesitate to ask me for details.

Best regards.

Sorry the .iso image of my live-usb key boots actually a Ubuntu 16.10 system.
The bugs are still present in this live session.
Should I let my computer open for further investigation or may I restart it with my Linux Mint system ?

Unfortunately yes.

By the way, I have not mentionned here that the system keeps considering my mini-PC as a screen. So I have to disable the display on it in order to have access to all application windows.

Thanks for your message Kai-Heng Feng.

I am puzzled when I click on the link you sent me, even after having checked the help section (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds).

Is there any possibility for me to make a live-usb key with a mainline kernel so that I can test it on my computer ? If so, is there any iso image I could download ?

No. not really. I guess install these packages directly on your machine is a better way to do it.

Hi,

A Linux-user finally found a solution to my problem. It was due to my ASUS motherboard.

By editing the following file : /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/10-quirks.conf

Adding the following code :

Section "InputClass"
  Identifier "Spooky Ghosts"
  MatchProduct "Video Bus"
  Option "Ignore" "on"
  EndSection

... the problem disappears after a reboot.

It may be necessary to repeat the handling after some hard updates or OS-reinstallation.

Thanks to all !
