Bug Description

Currently it is not possible to subscribe to all a project's bug reports that match a particular tag.

One way of implementing this would be the ability to search for a tag (bug 66839) plus the ability to subscribe to search results (bug 49752).

I think the correct way is to do this as a kind of structural subscription. Probably after we implement official bug tags for a project.

That's because you don't know what the implementation will look like.
From an implementation point of view, I think it makes sense to
implement official bug tags first. That doesn't mean that you will only
be able to subscribe to offical bug tags.

I've marked this as qa-ok even though I initially got some time-outs on qastaging when changing bug task status.

OOPS-1790QS13 shows that a query constructed by new code in this branch was running for a long time, and that the query was needlessly repeated. However, after a few goes - warming up the disk cache in the process I guess - it flew along quite happily with no noticeable delay.

I have filed bug 681326 to track the needless repetition of the query.

One other thing. The functionality laid down by the branches in this bug is not yet exposed to API or web users. I am currently working on bug 672619 which will expose this to API users.

It looks like this fix got close and then recent changes to the bug seem to have moved it away from being released. Is it still in the plans to release the UI for subscribing to a tag?

Absolutely. We're in an alpha phase for the UI now, and will be moving to beta soon, and release soon after that, hopefully.
