Bug Description

I think that it would be rather useful for the owners of PPAs to be provided with some statistical information which LaunchPad could collect, not too intrusive, but information like a count of how many people have installed which packages from a PPA, how many people have been using the PPA, how many people who have installed software from the PPA have upgraded the software from the PPA if an upgrade has come out since the version they got, and just some statistical information to show the maintainers/developers which versions are mostly being used etc. Nothing too intrusive, and maybe even give users the ability to opt-out, but at least some statistical information to at least let you know that somebody is actually using your PPA and software would be good.
