Package search should return some results even when there are too many results

The attached screenshots demonstrate an exercise in futility. Its kind of like the"how do you keep an idiot occupied" jokes.

GDB is the real package, and there's no reason for the package search not to return it or allow me to choose it.

I've experienced this problem countless times.

Hi, as a workaround I think I remember you can just go on the gdb package bug page and click on report a bug, or just write "gdb" (as you did) and press enter.

the search should be useful only when the reporter doesn't know exactly the package name
