Notifications area - feature request

What would be really good would be for you to be able to get notifications about new comments and changes of state of your reports in an in-built little notifications icon similar to the notifications method used on sites like AskUbuntu. So that instead of just sending an email, for you to actually get a little alert in Launchpad. This would probably be something like a small picture of a bell next to your name on the top right-hand side. Which would display the number of new alerts that you have 'unread' in your 'alerts inbox'. And this would be something like a pull-down menu from which you could select the new alert that you want to see and it would take you straight to the page where the even took place.
