According to the build log the package build does build some translations, but it seems they aren't getting imported into LP?

AFAIK the interesting usermetrics strings come from applications. I believe the issue with "wrong language" problems is that the translation is fetched only once, and the translated message is cached until there's a new event (for example new photo taken) when a new string is fetched as translated to be shown.

Ah, while vivid's import queue did not have anything (apparently libusermetrics didn't have any strings?) both wily's and 15.04's queue did have the POT which needed to be approved. I did that now.

So LP should import them now, and then the next langpack refresh should have them.

New set of langpacks 1:15.04+20150908 uploaded to overlay PPA now. The next image rebuild should thus pick this up.
