Bug Description
I am using Gmail to receive my LP email. Gmail has very weak email filtering capabilities compared to most email clients, and AFAICT it is not possible to set up a Gmail filter to filter mail coming in from LP. This is because LP sends emails with a From: header with the actual email address of the person sending the email, and a Reply-to: with an LP email address. In Gmail, it is not possible to filter emails on the Reply-to: header.
Typically mailing lists only do this if they prefix the subject of emails with an identifier in brackets, e.g. [LP]. I propose adding an option to user's LP profiles that gives them the choice of having an [LP] tag prefixed to email subject lines, or else have LP send emails From: an LP email address. I would prefer tagging subject lines, but either of these solutions would work.

You can filter mail in GMail based on Reply-To with an expression like "replyto: *@bugs. launchpad. net". That should cover Launchpad bug mail.
