confirming and setting initial priority to medium. I was thinking about this today and even experimented with the cloud view for projects on the front page. The catch is to think about how best to calculate what "active" means. Is it an overall average of bugs, specs, translations, etc...? Is it based on the total active karma against a product or distro? Should we also add a special badge to indicate whether the project has downloads? Many things need to be considered.
