Starting in 2014, the CVE format is changing to allow more than 10,000 per year.
The new format is CVE-year-number, where number is of arbitrary length, but padded to 4 digits with 0s.
The current "Link to CVE" dialog implies that it only permits 4 digits for the number, which was the previous format.
Examples in new format:
CVE-2014-0001 (current)
CVE-2014-9999 (current)
CVE-2014-10000 (new)
CVE-2014-456132 (new)
