Bug Description
1. Open bug report A.
2. Search for and open bug report B.
3. In A, choose "Mark as duplicate".
What happens: There is no mention of bug report B.
What should happen: Launchpad should suggest B as the duplicate target, since that's probably the reason you searched for it.
One way of implementing this would be using a cookie to record which bug reports you had opened recently.
