2007-07-20 09:23:10 Matthew Paul Thomas rosetta: importance Undecided High
2007-07-20 09:23:10 Matthew Paul Thomas rosetta: statusexplanation Thanks for reporting this problem, Thomas, and sorry for the lack of feedback. The project Translations page should indeed be smarter about telling you where in the review queue the project's upload is. I'll mark this as High importance because it's a bad initial impression to give to project maintainers.

I try to review the queue every two days (except for this week that I'm off), so usually, it shouldn't take so long. They are approved now. For other requests, I will go thru all pending entries next week, when I'm back at work. Cheers.

2008-08-06 11:16:04 Matthew Paul Thomas description After uploading a .pot file for a new project it enters the review queue. However, there are no (easy to see) instructions about what to do next. I uploaded the .pot file 2007-05-26 (two weeks ago), but the project page still says: "At this stage there are no translation templates in place for Zero Install Feed Translations Series: trunk. You should make sure that you upload a PO Template (.pot) rather than a translation file (.po). We will review the template and if approved, you can upload additional translations." How do I start the review process? After uploading a .pot file for a new project it enters the review queue. We will review the template and if approved, you can upload additional translations." Not to be confused with bug 190250, which is about providing a better explanation *before* the upload.

2008-09-18 14:19:43 Jeroen T. Vermeulen rosetta: statusexplanation There seem to be several main scenarios where people run into the lack of feedback: * They did not enable translations in their project settings, but missed the messages warning them of this. The fix for bug 253189 addresses this. * It took too long for their uploads to be reviewed. We addressed this by reviewing the queue more frequently, but we've also spec'ed ideas to make review go faster. * Email is lost. We're hoping to make this less painful with blueprint import-queue-incomplete-status, but the Answers application is also a big help. * People want more updates, as in bug 263358. Implementing blueprint import-status-change-notification will also improve matters. But, since this bug covers so many scenarios that are all covered elsewhere, I'll close this bug and rely on the existing bugs/blueprints to track the individual issues.
