Bug Description

On the creation of projects, some field haven't been registered in the creation process.

The fields tested where the informations are missing after the registration are:
 * Description
 * Homepage URL
 * Programming languages

Other fields can be a problem.

Another information, the projects are part of a group, and I created them with the link provided in the group project.

Ho, sorry, forget to put that information :p

The group project is : https://launchpad.net/ubuntu-fr

The two projects created this morning are: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu-fr-guide and https://launchpad.net/ubuntu-fr-tour

I used the link: https://launchpad.net/ubuntu-fr/+newproduct to create them.

Ok, I just tested it on staging with our old group project https://staging.launchpad.net/ubuntu-fr-website-project and this bug is also present.

How to reproduce :
 1 - go to a group project where you have enough privilieges (my example https://staging.launchpad.net/ubuntu-fr-website-project/ )
 2- create a new project with the link provided ( https://staging.launchpad.net/ubuntu-fr-website-project/+newproduct )
 3- enter the informations for the fields et click continue
 4- this is not an existing project so we continue
 5- enter a description and a website project, choose a licence, change the maintainer
 6- save
 7- see if the description, the website and the maintainer are registered or not (I can't see them)

We chose not to make the forms long. Instead, the project pages should encourage maintainers to complete the information.

This issue is arguably a duplicate of bug 394836 and several other that note which data the user needs to enter.

Hi Curtis,

I think you don't understand the problem here. There is fields, we can enter information in them and they are not registered so we have to fill them again. This take time and is so frustrating because you don't know if we have done something wrong when this happen. What is the point to have fields in a form if it's to trash the data someone take the time to put in them.

If you say these fields should be removed on a project creation, it's fine with me. It's a solution and we can still edit the project after the creation. But if these fields stay, the normal behavior is to register the information we put on them.

Okay, I understand. The field should be removed because they are inject data into a process the form does control.
