Bug Description

Hi, the https://launchpad.net/~unity-design team that I manage currently has 815 members, including a large portion of Canonical employees. Recently people have started using the "Contact this team's members" option to send individual emails to all 815 people who are part of this team (this includes the entire design team at Canonical, the entire Product Strategy engineering team as well, etc...)

We have a number of appropriate forums for community members to contact us; the 'unity-design' mailing list, bug reports and comments, the 'unity-design' irc channel, ubuntu brainstorm, etc...

For the three years nobody seemed to notice the Launchpad "Contact this team's members" feature, however now it is starting to be abused. I hope you can provide a option to either disable the "Contact this team's members" link on https://launchpad.net/~unity-design, or re-direct these emails to the Unity Design mailing list ( <email address hidden> ).

Thanks!

This is true I have seen other teams raise this issue since this was brought in, namely one issue is people don't know if a person has been replied to, the person who sends the initial request may get multiple replies. These replies would better server everyone if they were on the mailing list to help in future.

Laura's comments is about bug 301727.

This bug is actually Invalid, only team administrators using the feature will contact the 815 members. Any other user will only contact the team admins.
