Open Office cashes when I try to paste my e-mails

I was doing my homework and had to copy an e-mail that I sent to the Open University forum. I copied the e-mail but when I tried to paste it in Open Office Writer it cashed. I recovered my document and and tried to re-paste but the application cashed again.

My document was saved in a MS Word format so that the University can read my work.

So here are the bullet points:

I did tried to do this three times and it cashed all three times.

POSSIBLE CAUSE:

Open Office is unable to convert HTML into document text.
